Ana Costa e Paiva

Ana qualified as an architect in Lisbon, completing a Master’s degree in Refurbishment with a strong focus on existing buildings and adaptive reuse. Growing up within a family property development business, she developed an early interest in construction and the built environment, which naturally evolved into a career in architecture.

She began her professional career in Portugal, participating in architectural competitions across cultural, tourism, commercial and residential sectors. This experience helped establish a rigorous design approach and a strong conceptual foundation.

Since 2015, Ana has been practising in London-based studios, gaining experience in heritage, workplace and residential projects. As a Senior Architect, she has worked across multiple RIBA stages, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and supporting the delivery of technically complex schemes.

Working with existing buildings from the beginning of her career has shaped her design approach: responding to architectural challenges with thoughtful and context-driven solutions that respect historic fabric while accommodating contemporary requirements.

​

Outside of professional practice, Ana maintains an interest in fashion, photography, the arts and travel, which continue to inform her creative perspective.
